Description

Bog Bean | Bog Plants
A scrambling plant with a thick, spongy, creeping rootstock, this plant may be slow to establish in the water garden, requiring even 2 to 3 years before lush growth is attained. (But well worth the wait)  Olive-green leaves of three leaflets with long petiole bear flower stocks of 10-16 inches topped with short-lived, white, fringed flowers in mid-spring.  The plant flowers sparsely in Zones 8-11.

The lush growth of this plant makes it a desirable plant to establish around the pond edge or in very shallow water.  Trailing stems may grow some distance from their pot, rooting in other pots or along the pond edge.

* Plant Height:  Low growing only 2-3 in.  However, flower generally reaches around 10 in. from floating stem.
* Hardiness:  Zones 5 - 11
* Flowers:  White
* Lighting:  Sun to Part Shade
* Growing Conditions:  Bury plant roots in rich topsoil and leave the rhizome free across the soil in the pot.  Native to peat bogs, the addition of acid to the soil, in the form of peat additives, enhances plant performance.

ALL PLANT ORDERS WILL BE SHIPPED 2ND DAY AIR or USPS PRIORITY . Due to changing plant availability, and various plant sizes, customers will be notified of ship date and shipping charge before plants are shipped. Plants are shipped Mon, Tues & Wed.  Plant orders over $100 have free shipping.
