Under Water - Oxgenators
Important to water quality as well as clarity, the underwater foliage of submerged plants (also called oxgenators) filters unwanted nutrients. During the day, the plants add oxygen to the water, and at night they remove it. Too many submerged plants, however, can causewide pH swings, so in a pond with fish, keeep their area to about half the size of the pond.
